Japan gets back against Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic and Japan playing on that field for the second time in the 2018 men’s volleyball world championship. Both of them come from a defeat, so they hunting for a good performance and a win in this match. Italy has beaten Japan 3-0, while Slovenia won 3-1 against Dominican Republic. Masahiro Yanagida and in particular Yuki Ishikawa are on the top form and with their performance defeated Dominican Republic. On the othe side of the net, Henry Lopez was the top scorer for his team with 14 points and two blocks on his own, but he was not enough to defeated Japan. Japan starts strong, but Paulino blocks two attacks of Ishikawa (5-3). This kicked off the japanese comeback: Otake and Ishikawa get on the top and bring Japan ahead (8-12). Dominican Republic suffers the speed of the opposing game: Yanagida scores the 16th point for his team with a powerful spikes (13-16). Japan runs away thanks a very good performance at blocks and thanks a strong performance by Otake and Ishikawa. The first set ends 20-25. Dominican Republic then tries to jump out in the second set, but Japan gives as good as it get (7-7). Some mistakes punish the Dominican Republic’s team and coach Jose Alexander calls time out (9-14). Japan checks the set and wins 25-16. In the third set the mistakes of Dominican Republic continue and Japan runa way again (3-6). Lopez tries to drag his companions with two spikes, but Fukuzawa scores two aces (12-16). The match ends in three set. The last point of the match is a beatiful spyke by Fukuzawa (16-25).
